Event Outline Olympus conducted a session at Yoshida Junior High School in Yokohama titled "Understanding Cancer through Endoscopes." Offered as part of the school's technology curriculum, the session on endoscopes and cancer was conducted by an Olympus team following an introductory lecture on digitalization by the school's faculty. The students were then asked to maneuver endoscopes through training models, leading to a lot of wows and cheers as they successfully spotted polyps.
The students were amazed by the endoscope tips, which can move both laterally and vertically. After their hands-on experience, the students were divided into smaller groups to discuss the topics introduced during the lecture, and then present their discussion outcomes. Interesting ideas emerged, including see-through (fluoroscopic) endoscopes as an answer to the discussion topic: "What technology should be developed to enhance endoscopic technology?"
