Creating a "cycle of happiness" for society and employees with all our heart

Koh Hwa-Jin
Manager, CSR Team,
CSR & Compliance Division

It has been four years since the start of "I am CAMERA." We began by feeling our way through and gradually obtained the cooperation of various persons. It is very rewarding to see the smiles of the children and their parents who participated, an increase in the participation rate among employees, and their active participations. In addition, it is very gratifying and giving me confidence when new employees tell me that they knew about OKR's CSR activities before they joined the company, and when other companies praise our activities.

OKR's CSR activities are planned by keeping in mind to "be useful to society with our business knowledge." In "I am CAMERA," we ask hospitals with which we have medical business to select the participants. In the beginning, we visited hospitals to ask for their cooperation. Recently, however, we have sometimes received requests from hospitals. In some cases, the director of a hospital would attend the closing ceremony of an event. The CSR team will strive to make the activities even better since this would make the medical business staff proud and motivate them. This also makes patients smile, thus creating a "cycle of happiness." I feel that this is the benefit of CSR activities.
These goals aim to make OKR the top company in Korea in CSR activities through implementation with all our heart. These activities were carried out only by the CSR team a few years ago, but that is no longer the case. Volunteer members now come from various departments, and cooperative relationships have been formed with the medical business. Going forward, I would like to create a CSR culture build on company-wide activities.

OKR's CSR team members get along well with each other. They all have a desire to contribute to the society and the company. All the CSR team members will continue to consider implementing programs that allow employees to participate more easily and allow local employees to participate with a view to developing activities and making more employees feel happy. We intend to further expand the cycle of happiness consisting of "being useful to society with business knowledge → raising employees' motivation → being useful to society through business."
