Event Outline Aizu Olympus conducted an Olympus Endoscope Kids Class at Aizuwakamatsu Shiritsu Daigo Junior High School in partnership with the Board of Education of Aizu-Wakamatsu and its Aizukko Youth Development Project. During the class, the students learned about the history of endoscopes before being given an opportunity to personally operate such devices. At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has led to multiple events being cancelled, Olympus staff were eager to create a practical and enjoyable educational experience for the children. Preparations included health checks starting two weeks before the event, and a full range of infection prevention measures were implemented on the day, including the use of masks and social distancing, as well as the wearing of gloves when operating the equipment.
